Let’s face it: The main reason for most guys coming to the Philippines isn’t the hot local food or chocolate hills but rather the hot local chicks and Asia’s nicest boobs. There is no single foreign man that I know who leaves this country without having made at least one sexual experience with a Filipina. And most of the time that would be a Filipina bar girl.
Back home they may tell their family and friends of all those beautiful beaches with huge palm trees and the most delicious and sweetest mangos they have ever eaten, but when it comes to talking about encounters with Filipinas they may admit that they met someone but usually claim she’s not a bar girl, sex worker, prostitute or any kind of hooker. Why is that?
Because Filipina bar girls seem so different than the common western stereotype of prostitutes.
They seem so much more innocent, friendly, understanding, just like a “normal” girl over here and not like those frightening, obviously business oriented, mature and often even drug addicted prostitutes of the western world.
Filipina bar girls can make you feel it’s their first month working and you are one of their first customers if they feel like you are on holiday and haven’t got a lot of experience yet (and they are good in figuring that out). If it’s not your first time they’ll also feel and know that and instead treat you like the guy who understands them perfectly, their new best friend.
Another thing is that a lot of them don’t really regard themselves as bar girls or hookers. Most of them are really looking for one guy who provides them (and usually their families as well) financial stability in the long run. Very different to the prostitutes in America, Europe or Australia who would usually never think of starting an ongoing relationship with one of their customers.
For the bar girls in the Philippines it’s more like making a temporary living out of sleeping with foreigners until they find one who wants to take them as their girlfriend and provide ongoing financial support. Yes, you might even meet a bar girl who doesn’t ask for any money the next morning. Then she might just hope that you really like her and become her boyfriend and support her that way.
Filipina bar girls know that most westerners don’t like the idea of paying for sex so what they sometimes do is ask you for helping out with their little “problems”. Like their mother is sick and can’t pay the hospital bill, her dad needs to repair the motorcycle or she really needs some new clothes, handbags or cell phones. It just sounds better in the ears of a foreigner than the idea of paying for sex.
A typical Visit to a Girly Bar
Maybe you haven’t made this experience yet and if you already have then you may just skip this section. This is what a typical visit in a girly bar looks like:
You enter the bar, get a little shy when several young and super sexy girls turn their eyes on you (but at the same time notice a feeling of importance you haven’t had in a long, long time). You smile at the bar tender who greets you with a friendly “Hello, welcome Sir” along with a smile on her face as if she has been anticipating your arrival for weeks. At the same time you ask yourself why even the normal bartenders are so incredibly attractive here.
You decide to sit down at the bar first to get an overview of the ongoings. The next surprise comes when you look at the menu and notice that all local beers (San Miguel Pale Pilsener, Sin Mig Light & Red Horse) are only 70 Pesos a bottle but instead order a glass of draft beer (also San Miguel) which is the same price.
Just while you watch that skinny 19 year old or so local girl process your order you feel how someone puts her hand on your shoulder. You turn around and look in the dark eyes of a bar girl who makes the impression that you are destined for each other even before her asking the standard introduction questions: Hi, how are you? What is your nationality? How young are you? (notice the slight difference in words compared to Thailand where they ask “Where you from?” and “How old are you?”)
What is also different to the land of smiles: Upon serving your drink you need to sign the “invoice”, basically just a small paper stating the name of your drink along with the price. They do that to prevent issues from (drunk) customers who claim they have ordered only three lady drinks and not four and the like.
You start small talking with the girl who introduced herself as Rose, Eva, Kim or Bella (typical names) and after five to ten minutes when both of you feel you got warm with each other she politely asks you for a lady drink by explaining “I come from the desert, I took a long journey” before explaining that she worked in Abu Dhabi before (that’s just random, but I was told so once).
Filipina bar girls really know how to entertain you and that’s because their English is really good. At the same time they still keep that cute and innocent style that make you want to spend time with her, maybe even protect her from the bad world out there. On the other side, they often speak more straightforward than the girls in Thailand. So if you ask her “do you have a boyfriend?” a common reply is “No, I don’t have one. I’m too busy.” whereas the standard reply from a Thai bar girl would be like “No have. No one like me.”
So you just go on and have a good time with the girl. The unspoken rule is that as soon as you buy her a lady drink you may touch her. But that doesn’t mean you can’t put your hand on the back when saying hello to someone. Just use your common sense, be polite, smile a lot and you’ll be fine. Oh, and Filipinos love to give high fives. So when you agree on something, give her a high five and she’ll laugh and feel good.
How much for Sex with a Filipina Bar Girl?
2,000 Pesos. No seriously, there is no definite answer to this question as it depends on the attractiveness of the girl, how well you get on with each other and also on the type of place. So if you’d go to a bikini bar (basically a go go bar without girls getting naked) or KTV be prepared to pay at least 3,000 Pesos and up which also includes the bar fine.
Alternatively, at the sports bars things look a little different. They also have sexy bar girls employed but they may not be bar fined out and so if you ask her if she wants to go with you or visit you at your hotel she’ll likely answer sure, but you’d either have to wait until she finishes work (2-3am) or take her number and contact her the next day so she’ll come over in the afternoon before work.
Either way, the average price would be like 2,000 Pesos. Some of the really attractive ones may be asking for 3,000 Pesos, but if you are getting on well enough it’s not unusual that she would be fine with just 1,000 or 1,500 Pesos. But don’t think that if a girl doesn’t go down with her price she doesn’t like you – it’s their job and usually only source of income to sleep with foreigners. Those prices are, by the way the same as for the bar and club freelancers.
Can I make a Filipina bar girl fall in love with me?
Foreign men fall in love with bar girls all around southeast Asia and of course the Philippines are no exception. Just always keep in mind that the main reason the girls here start working in the bar isn’t because they want to see the Golden Gate Bridge, Big Ben or Sydney Opera House but rather because they struggle financially and often the reason behind this is a child from a Filipino guy who ran away and/or a family in the poor province who asks for support.
Sure, they can fall in love with you just like any other girl. Just don’t stress too much about that “does she only want money” issue as even if you meet a “normal” girl in the Philippines (or any other Asian country) your role as the primary financial caretaker of the family will always be expected. The difference is that bar girls make it more obvious and often also have higher obligations and needs than girls elsewhere.
Another thing to keep in mind here is that especially the more experienced bar girls (the ones who have been working in the bar for more than just a couple of months) may be less loyal to you in case you struggle financially as they know, from experience, that they can find another boyfriend or caretaker in no time. Again, just apply common sense and if she makes you feel good and happy and does a thing or two in the house then why not also giving back and supporting her.
How much money do Filipina Bar Girls make?
There are four different sources of income for the Filipina bar girl. The first and most obvious one is her salary and that’s usually 200 Pesos per day. This is the typical sports bar and bikini bar standard – those rates may be higher in the more expensive KTVs. The girls usually get one day off per week if they want but that’s always unpaid. You also see them taking longer vacations for a couple of weeks to visit their mom, family, baby or boyfriend.
I recently spoke to a girl in a popular sports bar in Cebu who told me that she worked at Watsons before. Her pay was 350 Pesos per day plus 4% commission if she reached the sales target of 500,000 Pesos per month. And the company also provided benefits being retirement and health insurance that her current employer, the bar owner, didn’t provide.
The second type of income is the tip which is equally shared among all employees of the bar. More lucrative are the lady drinks they are selling and if you pay 170-200 Pesos for one drink then her share would be 50 Pesos. It’s not uncommon that she sells three lady drinks a day on average, receives some tips and doubles her daily salary just like that to around 400 Pesos a day.
But then obviously the fourth and most attractive type of income for the Filipina bar girl is the money she receives for “going with a customer” means her price for sex. Again, sometimes they may charge 1,500 Pesos, sometimes 2,500 or 3,000 Pesos and just like that make more than three times the money in a couple of hours than during eight hours of serving drinks, drinking beer, coke or tequila and entertaining the male customers.
Also sometimes they have some boyfriends abroad sending them money on a regular basis, but you never really know until you spend more time with her. So sum that all up and you’ll get something from 25,000 Pesos up to around 80,000-100,000 Pesos per month. It’s really hard to say exactly as it depends on how “diligent” a girl is and how many customers she takes. And of course also on how attractive she is.
Is Sex with Filipina Bar Girls dangerous?
There might be two things you are worried about: Theft and health risks. As for the first one, I wouldn’t recommend letting a freelancer stay at your place overnight as you cannot find her the next day in case she steals from you. Short time should be fine as long as you watch your stuff, especially when taking a shower. Different for the girls who are employed by the bar that you know where to find them the following day and so do they know. The risk of bar girls stealing from you is quite low though as they would rather hope you call them over again in the future instead of causing problems.
And regarding the health issues or more precisely STDs: Just always wear a condom and you should be fine. Keep in mind that the Philippines is among the countries with the highest rates of people infected with the HIV virus, so go to the 7-Eleven and buy a 3-pack of Durex condoms for 80 Pesos. It’s worth it. There are surprisingly many girls here though, especially the freelancers, who don’t want you to use a “balloon” and even say they want a baby. Insist on using one and they’ll accept it.
